Cardio Dance Express by The Firm Review

I was ready to change my exercise routine and went shopping for a new exercise DVD. I picked up Cardio Dance Express by The Firm.

This was my first purchase from The Firm line of exercise DVDs and I was not disappointed.

The instructor, Allison Davis-McLain, along with four women dance though four routines. There is a club routine along with a Latin, jive and ballet style routine.

You have two ways to use the DVD. You can choose the first optioin which is 45 minutes and do all four without any breaks or you can choose the express option and choose to do either the Club, Latin, or Jive routine with each lasting around 12 minutes.

There isn't a warm-up routine so make sure you're ready to go.  Davis-McLain goes through each step several times and then you start over at the beginning of the routine so if you're used to dance style aerobics you shouldn't have any problems following Davis-McLain. However, if this is your first try at dance aerobics, you may have to rewind a few times. It wasn't until the fourth time of doing the Jive routine I was able to get the rock-steady move down pat.

The music is decent and she isn't an annoying instructor. The only time she talks is when she's explaining a move or announcing which move is coming up.

The one routine I didn't like was the ballet style routine. Thankfully, this is the last routine so I don't have to fast forward to the routines I do like. There wasn't anything wrong with the way it was taught. It's me. I'm not into slow exercises like yoga or ballet.

This makes a great rainy day workout or if you're like me a great 5 am workout.

Have you tried the Cardio Dance Express or any other DVD from The Firm?
